Pole-sitter Ryan Newman will start at the rear of the pack tomorrow. Even though he qualified first, his crew decided that the engine was junk and replaced it. That is an automatic move to the end of the field.
In the not-so-surprising department, Michael Waltrip will miss the Kobalt Tools 500 for failure to qualify and Dale Jarrett is once again taking one of his champion’s provisionals to be in the race.
