No Repricussions Expected For Stewart
To follow up on a topic that I covered over the weekend, NASCAR President Jim Hunter has stated that the sanctioning body does not plan to levy any fines or penalties to Stewart for swearing on television during a live feed from an ESPN2 cameraman on Saturday during practice sessions. Despite the fact that several drivers in the sport have been penalized for similar instances (Stewart on more than one occassion), Hunter says that this incident is different simply because Tony was not aware that they were on live television and there was no official interview being conducted.
For having the ability to demonstrate some common sense and, as I’ve stated before, just letting the drivers drive, I say bravo to NASCAR … bravo, I say!

TZ,
I agree 100%. It’s nice to see Nascar make a sensable judgement call. In the past or with most suits, You would probably just see an unrational fine thrown out there just to please the people who might have taken offense. You can never satisfy everyone completely, just run your organization the way you see fit. I hope to see more of this type of consistancy in Nascar. You said it best TZ. Bravo indeed.

Leo,
It’s good to know that NASCAR has several other “sensible” fans out there that see these things the same way.
